What WordPress SEO plugins would you recommend a new WordPress user to install on their site to optimize it for search engine rankings on places like Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo? What would you recommend?
Does it even matter using SEO plugins on a WordPress installation in 2024? Let me know.
Yes, I think using a WordPress SEO plugin in 2024 is still a good idea for people using WordPress to build different types of sites.
- The plugins can help you exclude sections of your site you don’t want to be indexed by search engines (category, tags and archives pages for example).
- SEO plugins can help you quickly add schema data to your site. Search engines can easily pull the data from your site to share with their users on search engine results pages.
- SEO plugins can help you quickly generate a sitemap file to be shared with search engines (through Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster) to help with crawling and indexing of existing pages on your site – as well as new pages / posts that you add to your site later down the road.
- Search engine optimization plugins can help you customize meta data for various pages and posts on your WordPress site.
- Search engines can help you connect your site to your webmaster account on both Google and Bing.
These are just some of the reasons that I could think of the top of my head right now to share with anyone who is wondering if using SEO plugins is still worth it in 2024.
As to which plugin I recommend for all this, I’d say All in One SEO. That is the plugin I currently use.
I have used Yoast SEO before as well and liked it.
